“When you look at the crucifix, you understand how much Jesus loved you then. When you look at the Sacred Host, you understand how much Jesus loves you now.” - St Mother Teresa of Calcutta
Guided Adoration
We're excited to bring back a family-friendly experience of Eucharistic Adoration, formerly called "Family Adoration" but now called "Guided Adoration." This will be held once a month on Sunday evenings from 5:30-7pm, starting this Sunday 9/18!
Here's what a typical evening will look like:
5:30-6pm: Guided Adoration in the Church
Adoration will include music and guided reflections for both children and teens/adults. People of all ages are welcome to join!
6-7pm: Potluck Meal
Bring a dish to pass or something simple to share with others, and your own plates/utensils. This will be held outdoors, weather allowing, or in the Gathering Room.
Every Tuesday from 1PM - 5PM & 5:30PM - 8PM
Sacred Hearts invites you to spend time in the presence of our Lord every Tuesday, from 1pm to 5pm, for adoration. Mass takes place from 5pm to approximately 5:30pm and Adoration continues until 8pm.
First Fridays of the Month, 9AM - 11 AM
Benediction at 11AM
The first Friday adoration is in honor of and devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament begins after the 8:30 a.m. Mass. You are welcome to spend time in private prayer from then until 11:00 a.m.
New to adoration or not sure what to do? Our lives as Catholics should be founded and centered on prayer. Eucharistic adoration affords us an opportunity to take ourselves out of the noisy world and to sit before Jesus, talk to him, listen to him, and allow him to renew our weary and tired hearts. You can say a prayer before him or use a devotional or simply remain in the loving silence of our Lord's presence. The fact that you are there is a prayer in and of itself because you show your love and belief of the source and summit of our Catholic faith, that is Jesus the Risen Lord is truly and substantially present Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in the Blessed Eucharist. So please find some time to spend an hour, a half hour, 15 minutes or make a short visit to Sacred Hearts on Tuesday afternoons.
Would you like to be a regular adorer or be included on the list of subs? Please contact Fr. Miro via EMAIL or call him 608-837-7381 and he will assist you and answer any questions you have.
